Hey Ladies!!

Today I want to talk a little about Proverbs 31. I know we see girls on social media have Proverbs 31:30 in their bio all the time. Along with some other variations proclaiming alliance to Christ: Godly Woman (but most times I see the plural: women?), God-fearing, God 1st, Blessed, Luke 1:45, etc etc etc.

They are all fine and dandy, but these bios essentially accomplish – nothing. Hear me out. It’s easy to write something in your bio and leave at just that. It’s easy to post a few scriptures on Christian holidays. It’s easy to proclaim something, and then have our actions negate what we just said – or in this case – what we just wrote in our bio.

I am proposing to you, that the Proverbs 31 woman is more than just proclaiming it in on a social media platform. She’s much more than blessed. She’s much more than a woman who depends on a man to make stuff happen. She’s more than charm and beauty (y’all like that one?).

So, let’s look at who the Proverbs 31 woman really is:

She is valuable (v.10): “… She is more precious than rubies.” Girl! What? Now, I’m not too into jewels and stones, but I’d like to believe that a ruby is worth a pretty good penny, right? Bottom line, God calls us

valuable before anyone else. Before any boy can attempt to holla, you feel me? Before any self-doubt can creep in and try and tell you different – WE. ARE. VALUABLE.

She is goal-oriented and hardworking (v.13-24): Going to focus on v.17: “She is energetic and strong, a hard worker.” Okay, so the Proverbs 31 woman is not lazy. She does not look for hand-outs. She is ready and eager to work the best way she knows how. She is happy to commit her actions to God and His glory – not for herself. And that’s some good tea because it shows how capable we are as women – like what can’t we do?

She is confident (v.25): One of my favorite bible verses hands down. The Proverbs 31 woman is confident beyond belief. She can laugh without fear of the future for three reasons: 1. She is secure in her God. 2. She is secure in her marriage and family. 3. She is secure in her gifts, talents, and abilities.

She prioritizes spiritual beauty (v.30): This is THAT memory verse, right? A lot of us know this verse by heart, but we don’t understand how powerful it is. “Charm is deceptive, and beauty does not last; but a woman who fears the Lord will be greatly praised,” what does that mean? The Proverbs 31:30 woman places her spiritual beauty above physical beauty. Our skin wrinkles, we gain weight, we don’t bounce back like we used to – but if our relationship with the Father is A1, we will have a beauty – a glow – that surpasses all understanding.

Ladies!! Proverbs 31 was put in the bible for more than a cute scripture to put as a caption when you finally

get a man, or when you catch that godly lighting for a selfie. It’s a blueprint! Proverbs 31 shows us a woman who puts herself last while still understanding her worth. It shows us a woman who is respected and praised by her husband, her children, and her city. It demonstrates how with grit and virtue, women can be more than what society expects of us.

THE PROVERBS 31 WOMAN IS A WOMAN OF ACTION.

I encourage you all to read Proverbs 31 through and through. Take notes, highlight, annotate, alladat! Speak the characteristics that you want to embody over your life. Take this season to BE. THAT. GIRL.

Peace +GLOW Always,

"There are many virtuous and capable women in the world,

but you surpass them all!"

-Proverbs 31:29 NLT
