What about tomorrow?

I'm writing this on Wednesday, August 30th, and I'm currently waiting for my 5 o'clock class to start. I had no intentions on starting or completing this blogpost today, because I had made it a plan to start it tomorrow, August 31st. I had this little break between my classes all scheduled: I'd get back from my 2 o'clock class, sit in my dorm, lay on my bed, maybe watch a YouTube video, and chill until I had to go back out for my 5 o'clock. But, then I recalled a notification from the She Who Is Called App I had received earlier in the day:

"If you want to get started with something then do it today. Someday soon becomes never or many months from now. Don't make that mistake."

Naturally, I got all defensive. Uh, excuse me? Who are you to tell me when to do something? I'll do it when I want to! NEXT.

Then came a big ole Spirit check: You'll never do anything when you want to, because you'll never want to. Oops, sorry if I stepped on a few toes. Take me for example: I never start a blogpost until I have some a specific message I want my readers to receive. In addition, most of the messages I set out to write about never wind up being what I actually write, because Hello Holy Spirit! With that being said, sometimes I don't get started on the next Monday's blogpost until Thursday, or Friday, or maybe even Sunday night. Why is that? Maybe it's a mix between wanting to put out the right content and being busy. Or maybe I'm just lazy.

Ooh, y'all don't like that L word huh? Well, yeah, neither do I. Before today, I'd just call it "waiting for perfection." That thinking is problematic within itself, and I've already explained why here. But after that notification, I realized I was just being downright lazy. Not pushing myself to crank out words on this computer I'm typing on (FYI: writer's block SUCKS). Not scheduling time to add onto a post everyday. Not prepping my heart for the message I'm stuck on sending. Which almost always, (like a lot of other peoples plans, dreams, and purposes), results in a "dream deffered" (Okay, I see you Langston Hughes!)

I know you're probably reading this like: okay that's a nice revelation and all, but what does that mean for me?

Like the quote stated above, some day will soon turn into never or many months from now.

I'm tired of hearing about people's visions with no actions behind it. You don't have time to waste. I know everyone says tomorrow isn't promised, which it isn't, but neither is your next breath. So why spend your time planning, when you can spend your time doing?

I don't know what God put on your heart to start, what you're working towards or what your time goes into, but if you want to make something happen... make it happen.

The world is waiting!

be lazy and become a slave."
