10 Tips for an Awesome August!

August is the eighth month of the year. Can you believe we're already 7 days in? Whether the last 7 months have been the best or the worst for you: Congratulations! You're now 66.7% through 2017! With this blogpost I intend to help you make the rest of your August AWESOME, to say the least. Some of these tips are very lighthearted, some are kind of serious. Either way, I hope you enjoy and take a few of them with you as you make this month, one to remember!

1. Pray: Prayers are simply conversations with God. A good thing to know is that there isn't a minimum, nor a limit to how long your prayers should be. If you're having trouble with your prayer life, remember: one of the easiest ways to pray is to talk to God like he's one of your friends! (I mean He is.. but you know what I saying.)

2. Read your Bible: You don't have to read a whole book in a day, you can start off with a daily scripture or chapter! Meditating on the Word is a great way to develop spiritual maturity and another way to draw closer to God. Not to mention, the Bible holds some of the funniest, craziest, and most enlightening stories and events.

3. Surround yourself with affirmations: Positive affirmations can, and will change your mindset. Reminding yourself of who you are and what you're capable of is a refreshing way to start and end your day. They also encourage you to forget about yesterday, because today you are: *insert affirmation*. (Make sure your place these affirmations somewhere they are easily visible and visited often.)

4. Protect your peace: I wrote a blogpost regarding this subject!

5. Floss: Apparently it takes 21 days to form a habit... (there's 31 days in August).

You and your dentist will thank me later.

6. Clean your space: Whether it's your room, work-space, the kitchen, or the living room. Clean something, I promise it'll make you feel better.

7. Smile: Choose joy everyday, and show off those pearly whites! (*see #5)

8. Exercise: It doesn't have to be a HIIT workout, or T-25. Your exercise can be a walk around the block, a slow jog, yoga, zumba, etc. Just make sure you stay active and have fun while doing it!

9. Embrace growth, change, and challenges: Stop being content with comfort. Face your challenges head on, be open to change, and choose to see the beauty in growth!

10. Have fun: no explanation needed.

In case you didn't realize it, time isn't waiting for anyone. So why wait until the new year to make some improvements? It's never too late to be renew your mind, body, and spirit.
