"DON'T BE THE PRETTY GIRL WITH NO PURPOSE"

While scrolling down my Instagram feed a month ago, I came across the quote this blog post is titled after. Immediately, I took a screenshot and kept it with intentions of putting it on my Instagram Story for inspiration, but I never did. Maybe I forgot, or maybe I questioned my credibility. Who am I to tell someone what to do with their life, when I wasn't really doing anything with mine? It wasn't until I released this project that I came across the screenshot in my phone again and decided to do something about it...

A pretty face is great. It feels good to be complimented, and gassed up when you look nice (whether it's coming from you or from others). But I have a question...

Are you just a pretty face?

A pretty face is nice to look at, I'll give you that. But what about your character? Your personality? Your ability to see a problem in this world knowing only you and your specific talents can fix it? Let's learn to develop and spend more time focusing on the content on the inside, rather than the outside. Yeah, your pretty face will catch a few eyes, and turn a few heads, but when you realize that what you have to offer is more than just your appearance, you'll leave an unforgettable impact on the people you encounter.

But maybe you're scared. Maybe you had a dream, but life has crushed it and fooled you into believing you can't achieve it anymore. Maybe you're scared of what your friends will think if you start walking in your purpose. You wanna be down, but God is elevating you, so they start hating.

Maybe failure and death are synonymous to you, and if you have even the tiniest of slip ups while beginning this walk in discovering your purpose, you'd might as well have called the Grim Reaper on speed-dial. And now because of all of these lies, you begin to think that all you can do is be the pretty girl with no purpose.

Well, I'm here to tell you that you are more than a pretty face. You are more than Instagram likes and Retweets. I don't want to see you go through life putting your all of your worth in the amount of heart-eyes in your comments, and neither does God. I'm here to tell you that when you walk with grace and humility, you can be a pretty girl with purpose. Girls, there's a different type of satisfaction you get when your passion benefits other people more than it benefits you. When you know there is NO L big enough to stop what God has created you do to, you start to walk different. Your words, actions, and thoughts become unstoppable.

Whether you write it down, think about it, or speak it, I want to challenge you to find out what is it that brings you joy. What is your craft? What can you do for days and days without ever getting tired of it? What is it about you, that separates you from others that do the same exact thing?

I want to support and encourage you. Shoot, let me gas you up!! I want to see you GLOW! Not just for the pretty face, I'm sure that's a given, but because you decided to step into your God-given potential and started changing the world the way you know how.
